The University of Beira Interior (UBI) is an expanding Portuguese higher education institution that has reached the status of an academy, welcoming students from all regions of the country and international students of dozens of nationalities, particularly from Portuguese-speaking countries and Latin America.
Currently, UBI has more than 8,000 students, spread across five faculties - Arts and Letters, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering - with a Bologna-approved education offer and laboratory and research structures to support teaching and with strong links to society and the business world.
UBI's actions are governed by a set of academic and human values that define its identity and promote its collective efficiency, namely intellectual freedom, academic integrity, diversity, excellence, social responsibility, learning for life and rationality.
