Context:

According to a World Bank report, 2.01 billion tons of municipal waste are generated globally each year, and at least 33% of them are untreated. In other words, they end up in landfills, contributing to the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs).

However, a significant amount of these discarded wastes has high potential, as they can be reintroduced into the production chain, thus promoting circularity.

Opportunity:

Wastes ending up in landfills include materials that can be valorized either energetically or materially in other sectors if there is proper segregation and treatment.

The reuse of these wastes presents an opportunity to reduce their volume and establish a circular economy model. The industry needs alternative fuels and raw materials derived from waste to decrease the consumption of natural resources.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking all types of gasification or pyrolysis technologies with significant syngas generation, especially those with integrated post-treatment to maximize the content of hydrogen and carbon monoxide with low concentrations of CO2 and H2O in the gas stream.
