The Fundación Barrié is a private heritage foundation, arising from the generosity of the businessman and patron Pedro Barrié, and that of his followers. Created in 1966, the Foundation has allocated its resources to promote the sustainable development of Galicia, especially initiatives linked to education.
Banker, businessman and promoter of great initiatives, Pedro Barrié de la Maza dedicated his life to working for the economic, social and cultural progress of his land, an objective that continues to be pursued today by the Foundation that carries out its activity in the fields of Education (with scholarship and talent management programs), Social Action (with projects to strengthen the Third Sector or support penitentiary centers), Research (promoting scientific dissemination and Research), Heritage (committing to conservation of heritage assets) and Culture (developing exhibition projects on Photography, Design, Heritage and Architecture).
