María José de Concepción Sánchez holds a degree in Biological Sciences and a diploma in Teacher Training Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). She began her professional career as a high school teacher in Secondary Education. Since 2001, she has been a career civil servant at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), where she worked as a Chemical Patent Examiner until 2008. From that point on, she has been part of the Dissemination, Communication, and Business Relations Area within the Support Unit, serving as the Head of the Communication Service. She is currently the Deputy Director General of the OEPM.
