Marta is a devoted IP-expert with more than 9 years of experience as a patent examiner at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO). She currently works in the General Mechanics area, where she pursues examination of both national and international patent applications on the aforementioned technical field. Apart from her examiner duties, she is an active collaborator of the quality department and forms part of the on-call patent examiner team. Marta regularly participates on fairs, talks, seminars and courses and performs the evaluation of SPTO-grants. Before entering the field of IP, Marta pursued a career in Research in the field of Chemistry. She developed her trajectory in worldwide-recognized Universities, within highly prestigious research groups in both the EU as well as the US. Right after her research phase, and before entering the SPTO, Marta joined the private sector, where she worked first in research and later as an environmental consultant. Despite her current specialization in the mechanics field, Marta actually holds a BSc and PhD in Chemistry, both from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
