PhD in Medicine - Univ. Autonoma of Barcleona (UAB); Master in Business Management (UAB); Master in Scientific Communication at Univ. Pompeu Fabra (UPF); Master in Hyperbaric Medicine at Univ. Barcelona (UB). I have had responsibilities in different environments of health sector: hospital management; teaching at university; consultancy at national and international level; R&D+i project management; science divulgation as a founder of scientific review "Educación Médica" and as a former member of the editorial committee of the "health section" of one of the main newspaper in Catalonia. During the last years, I have been very active in technology transfer field: I was the Healthcare Director at KIM (Knowledge Innovation Market), and I have founded some startup companies, or helped them to grow, participating as a business angel (BA) investor and in some cases as a member of the Board. Some of them are: SOM Biotech (a drug repurposing company); TR Composites (carbon fiber components for aeronautics); Confirmsign (digital logistics provider); Nanosel (nanotech platform for cancer treatment) IDP DIscovery Pharma (drug development to fight cancer); Centaury Biotech (stem cells vet company). Currently I am the CEO of Ahead Therapeutics SL, a biotech company focus on drugs development to treat and cure auto-immune disease. Our nanotechnology platform is based on liposomes encapsulating Ag, and it is to generate antigen specific immune tolerance. We have excellent preclinical data. We are developing assets for the following indications: Type 1 Diabetes; Multiple Sclerosis: Celiac Disease; Rheumatoid Arthritis; Neuromyelitis Optica; Myositis; Myasthenia Gravis. Areas of interest: drug development; techtransfer; teaching in health sciences; scientific dissemination; management of welfare services; VCs; Entrepreneurship and innovation in biomedicine.
