Ms. Carbonell holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. She is a Spanish State Chartered Economist since 2007 and has developed her professional career in several positions in the Spanish Public Administration, mainly in the economic and commercial spheres. Ms. Carbonell has been Advisor for International Affairs in the Cabinet of the Spanish Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation (2020-2021) and Head of European Union Affairs in the Cabinet of the Minister of Economy and Competitiveness (2012-2015) and Deputy Director of Legislation and Financial Policy in the General Secretariat of the Treasury. Abroad, she has served as Head Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Colombia (2015-2020). Her education extends further, with courses related to new tendencies in management of Public Affairs (Oxford University), technology and entrepreneurship (MIT) and team leadership (ESADE). Currently, Ms. Carbonell is Chief Executive Officer of ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, a State-Owned Enterprise whose mission is to promote the internationalization of Spanish companies and to foster foreign direct investment into Spain.
