Compostable packaging

Description

From the Tech Transfer Agrifood Fund, we seek innovation by developing a compostable flexible film for vertical automatic packaging. The film should be printable in up to 6 colors and maintain mechanical properties under the following storage conditions:

• Storage cycles at room temperature: from -5ºC to +45ºC.

• Subsequent packaging at 1ºC to 5ºC.

• Subsequent packaged storage at -35ºC.

The solution we are looking for with this challenge should provide a film lifespan, without losing mechanical properties, of 3 years and be certified by the supplier.

Potential Approaches

• Suitable for a lifespan of 3 years, certified, ranging from -35ºC to 45ºC.

• Sustainable packaging - all plastics must be 100% recyclable. Exploring proposals for alternative packaging concepts to plastic but with similar characteristics.

• Bag format in cardboard or paper - alternatives to plastic bags.

• Compostable and biodegradable plastic with desired properties is appreciated.
